You were all going to get another silly entry today, on the eerie similarity between British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and the Demon Head Master of children’s television fame. You can see the embryonic entry below. ----------- To distract us all from approaching war – Jack Straw and the Demon headmaster – separated at birth? I’m not the first one to notice (see #67) >Here’s a picture of Jack Straw.
Here’s a picture of Terrence Hardiman, the Demon headmaster. However, I found this on the internet and it changed my plans. Rachel Corrie, an unarmed American peace activist, was killed by an Israeli bulldozer as she tried to stop the illegal demolition of a house. First I was stunned, and then I sat at my desk and cried. My first thought was about what kind of propaganda programmed robot drives a bulldozer over an unarmed person. My second was about the kind of courage it must have taken to sit there and let the bulldozer drive over her. My third thought was, why is this not in the American press? The only US newspaper to pick up the story is the Seattle Times, probably because she was a Washington state native. This is all I can say for now. I’ll try to write later, when I can say something worthy of what she did.
