i'm back

It’s been so long I am almost embarrassed to start writing again. Where to start? Well, the wedding, as I said before, was perfect and lovely. Nearly everyone I love was there – only Suspect Granger and Zed were missing. Sarah even made it all the way from Tbilisi. The purple balloons the guests held were incredibly pretty. The music was perfect. The reception was a lot of fun. My dress was gorgeous. If I had a gold membership, I’d post pictures. Ian ended up performing the wedding ceremony, with Mike, Corrado, and Tea’s dad doing readings. It was a beautiful ceremony. Tea and Gwen and Ian stayed up all night the night before to write it. Having a ceremony written by people who loved us just for us was really moving. We had about ten people staying with us for the wedding. It was nice to have a house full of people. Every time I entered a room there was somebody to smile at. Other parts of being back in the US were less fun. Dad was in an especially manic episode, and Kir and I spent a lot of money while in the US. Nothing extravagant – I think we just kind of forgot how expensive America is. Gulnara came with me. She was pretty freaked out by the US at first, but I think she grew to like it. I almost lost Tezy on the flight to Istanbul, but that’s another story. The trip home took six weeks, but I was hardly ever in one place. Miami – Thousand Islands – Iowa - Thousand Islands – Miami. I am still writing thank-you notes.
